Synopsis
Shen Ruoran’s lifelong dream was to own her own home. Consequently, she bought a house early on, but eventually died from overworking at the office just to pay off the mortgage.
From then on, the “Quick-Wear” worlds gained a legendary anti-involution worker who prioritized sleep and refused all overtime. After completing one hundred apocalyptic survival missions, Shen Ruoran successfully retired, with a beautiful life finally within her reach.
However, her dreams were shattered when she unexpectedly entered a doomsday world triggered by nuclear wastewater. The troublesome system forcibly locked this world as her “retirement reward,” though it did come with an unlimited storage space and an entire apartment building.
Shen Ruoran: “Thanks for the offer, but it’s really not necessary.”
A month later, floods swept across Planet L. Animals and plants mutated or went extinct, and humanity was pushed to the brink of collapse.
Only one place remained peaceful and prosperous. Inside a towering apartment building, people from all walks of life lived comfortably; they had meat for every meal and slept soundly through the night. The only catch was that the method of earning rent was quite peculiar, and the Landlady strictly forbade them from working too hard to pay it.

The 21st floor was brightly lit as professors conducted round after round of anti-nuclear experiments.
At exactly 20:00, the power on the 21st floor was cut off on schedule.
The culprit, Shen Ruoran, declared:
“I’ve told you many times, it’s a building rule: no overtime. For every hour of overtime you work, the rent doubles.”
Professors: “…”
Years later, at a global press conference, a reporter asked an online question: “Professor Kang, could you share the journey behind developing the anti-nuclear suit?”
Professor Kang smiled: “Back then, my only thought every day was that I absolutely had to research something before eight o’clock in the evening.”
